BARRINGTON, NH, OCTOBER 20, 2011: Computer Resources, a pioneer in providing computerized Student Information Systems for K-12 schools, is pleased to announce that its MMS For Schools ® software suite has been awarded Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) v2 certification by the SIF Certification Authority, The Open Group.
Computer Resources’ MMS For Schools Generations Edition software has been SIF certified for several years and, in keeping with their commitment to helping schools improve their efficiency and effectiveness, have enhanced their MMS software to keep up with the latest SIF specifications. The SIF v2 certification means that the MMS For Schools Generations Edition software will be able to easily exchange data with other SIF compliant programs (data warehouse. transportation, food service, library, financial, etc.) in use by schools or school districts.
This will reduce or eliminate duplicate data entry, saving time and frustration, and making it much easier for school administrators and educators to gather the information they need to make informed decisions.
The Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA) is a non-profit organization made up of software publishers like Computer Resources, school districts, state educational organizations and others committed to improving the process of education in the United States. The goal of the SIF initiative is to enable diverse software applications to share data without the need for a lot of expensive, customized programming within each school district and to deliver accurate information to school and district personnel when and where it is needed. Detailed information can be found on the SIF web site at http://www.sifinfo.org.
